scwd2 is committed to reaching out to the public to educate and raise awareness on desalination technology, our need for a supplemental source of supply, the projects that we've previously looked into, and the schedule of the proposed full-scale project. We will ensure that our community will have the opportunities for public input during the approval process. Our Public Outreach efforts include:

Plant
Tours are available through our pilot plant facility located at the Long
Marine Laboratory in Santa Cruz. Visitors have an opportunity to see
the desalination process demonstrated and learn why a supplemental source of
supply is needed for the customers of the City of Santa Cruz and Soquel
Creek Water District. General Public Tours area available on the 2nd
Wednesday of the month, through the Seymour Center, and by special

event to discuss water issues and the proposed desalination
